WELCOME TO THE WILD BLUFFS
ATTENTION: East Point Shoreline and Bluffer's Beach - Keep Our Shorelines Natural
The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is currently planning a major overhaul of about 11 kilometres of the Scarborough waterfront, from Bluffer’s Park in the west to East Point Park, near the mouth of Highland Creek. This is a very big decision that has the potential to fundamentally alter the contour and shape of the eastern waterfront, and the way we relate to the lake, for generations to come.
The Wild Bluffs is a grassroots conservation organization
with a focus on preserving and restoring habitat for wildlife in The Scarborough Bluffs. Did you know that The Bluffs are an important habitat for many threatened and endangered species? This area is one of the few remaining spaces within the Greater Toronto Area where you can still view some of this magnificent wildlife, including Bald Eagles, Snapping Turtles, Minks, and Trumpeter Swans.
Please take a look through our website at photos from our community including great wildlife shots, and many views of our stunning 70,000 year old geology. In our blog section you will find several posts about our conservation efforts and more.
The Wild Bluffs is entirely volunteer run…for the love of nature! We appreciate any and all support. To become a donor, please see our donation page.
The Wild Bluffs wants YOUR opinion!
Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders, cherish the natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and your children’s children. Do not let selfish men or greedy interests skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance.Theodore Roosevelt
